What a lucrative couple of weeks it's been! I don't know about you, but December is my FAVOURITE month of the year. That love may be slightly biased since my birthday is in December (finally 19, yay!), and decorating christmas trees could be my day job, but it really is one of the greatest months. Nothing beats being surrounded by family and friends.
It is also about tradition, and one of my favourites is dressing up impeccably to invoke discomfort amongst my extended family. My family is pretty reserved and mostly uninterested in fashion as a whole, so when I show up to Christmas dinner in a sheer top (or one without a back), they usually shake their heads in a that's-our-tacha! type of way.
This year, I put this lovely number together. My grandma bought me the skirt as a birthday gift and although it's not typical of my wardrobe, I really like the challenges it has presented me with. I enjoy adding edgier pieces to balance the girly and dark aesthetic.

I've also started to gain interest in playing with makeup. Still going through the stripper eyeshadow phase, but slowly learning and achieving looks that work well with my eyes. I especially liked this one because it is simple and yet not over powering.
I made another outfit to see what other shirts I could wear with my pleated skirt and found that this one worked quite well. I have trouble wearing more than two colours at any time (one must always be black) and therefore my options may be limited. As for you, if you decided to buy this skirt, or one similar, you could easily pair it with a tight, cropped 3/4 length sleeve shirt in a maroon or even a light blue if you were daring enough.
Well that's all the tips for today! If you've got any more, feel free to comment; everyone can benefit from extra suggestions.
